Pikihia te Poutama Plan

Our Māori Workforce Advancement Plan depicts the underpinning values and aspirations for our Workforce Advancement activities over the next 5 years.

“Pikihia te poutama kia oti ai a runga, kia oti ai a raro.”

Na Huirangi Waikerepuru rāua ko Tawhiti Kunaiti

The whakatauaki above is inscribed on the back of one of the Poutama that reside within Te Tihi o Ruahine.

It encapsulates the collective aspirations of Te Tihi o Ruahine to Reach New Heights; a commitment to the furthering of our knowledge and learning, ability, perspective, and influence so that we can support our whānau to ascend to their taumata; the realisation of their dreams and aspirations.

Pikihia Te Poutama grounds the constructs of knowledge and learning within traditional understandings and the wisdom of our tūpuna.

Our kaitiaki who are depicted upon our Poutama, Te Hōkioi and Te Pakake, are given prominence within this work; guiding, supporting, and providing a framework to further our knowledge and learning, so we can ascend to the heights of our poutama and effectively support whānau to reach their taumata.
