The main aim of this project is to increase Māori participation and interaction with the political landscape in Aotearoa. Increasing enrolment and voting statistics is definitely an intended outcome. Ultimately it is generational attitudinal change toward the system that will ensure sustainable participation of whānau Māori for generations to come.
Whānau will be engaged alongside existing community kaupapa that Te Tihi have involvement in. This will happen in conjunction with a series of 6 videos released monthly in the lead up to the 2017 election. These videos will target whānau Māori with content that is relevant to their experience and worldview in the political arena.
