Ora Konnect is an initiative for the South Western Suburbs of Palmerston North. It is an innovative, dynamic, different approach. It is a move away from bricks and mortar (buildings) by connecting the community with their resources through a technology platform. This enables education, health, social support and community services to use a collective, integrated system which will help to actively support whānau to drive their own health and wellbeing.
The South Western (SW) Suburbs is made up of the following suburbs: Takaro, Cloverlea, Highbury, Westbrook, Awapuni North, Awapuni West, Awapuni South and West End.
Ora Konnect will use Collective Impact as an approach, which argues that no single intervention or entity can solve the increasingly complex problems that our whānau and communities face. Collective Impact is based on the understanding that it will take multiple entities from different sectors to abandon their own agendas in favour of a joint common agenda to achieve sustainable outcomes.
Ora Konnect will align the kaupapa of Whānau Ora and Collective Impact to ensure whānau and the community voice are at the centre of the project.
